What is Auto Changeover?

Auto Changeover allows the thermostat to change automatically between heating and cooling. The thermostat will change between heating and cooling as needed based on the room temperature and the elected heating and cooling set points.

How do I adjust set point in Auto Changeover mode?

When you are in Auto Change Over mode, the display will say either “auto heat” or “auto cool” to the left of the room temperature. If you are trying to change the heat setting when the display says “auto heat”, or trying to change the cool setting when it says “auto cool”, simply press the + or – button. If you want to change the cool set point when it says “auto heat”, you must first press the mode button until the mode shows “cool”, then use the + or – to change the cool set point. Then press the mode button to switch the mode back to Auto Changeover. If you want to change the heat set point when it says “auto cool, you must first press the mode button until the mode shows “heat”, then use the + or – to change the heat set-point. Then press the mode button to switch the mode back to Auto Changeover. If you are trying to set the heat and cool set points for your program settings (wake, leave, return, sleep) the thermostat allows you to adjust each set point as you cycle through the program settings.

What can I clean the screen with?

To clean the screen, use household glass cleaner, but do not spray it directly on the screen. The cleaner can be put onto a soft cloth and used to wipe the screen.

Does Honeywell have a free thermostat program?

Honeywell does not have a free thermostat program. However, Honeywell does from time to time partner with companies to give away energy saving thermostats as part of different programs.

What comes in the T5 7-Day Programmable Thermostat package?

The package includes: T5 Thermostat, UWP mounting system and quick installation guide.

How do I set the time on my T5 7-Day Programmable Thermostat?
  • Press the Menu button. Press the “+” button until "TIME" appears. Press “Select”.
  • You will see "12HR" appear. Here you will be able to choose 12 or 24 hour clock options. You may choose between the two options by pressing the + or - . Then Press "Select button.
  • This will then bring you to the option to edit the time. You will see the HOUR flashing in the digital clock. Press + or - to adjust the hour. Press SELECT.
  • Press + or - to adjust the minutes. Press SELECT.
How can I set the date on my T5 7-Day Programmable Thermostat?
  • Press the Menu button. Press the “+” button until "Date" appears. Press SELECT.
  • Press + button to advance to the "DATE" to be displayed on the screen. Press SELECT. You will see the Year flashing.
  • Press + or - to change the year.
  • Press SELECT to advance to change the month.
  • Press + or - to advance to the desired month.
  • Press SELECT to advance to the date.
  • Press + or - to change the date, then press SELECT to save and exit.
How do I change the system setting?
  • Press the MODE Button to cycle to the next available system mode.
  • Cycle through the modes until the required system mode is displayed and leave it to activate.

NOTE: Available system modes vary by model and system settings. System modes include: Auto, Heat, Cool, Em Heat.

How can I change the fan operation setting?
  • Press the FAN Button to cycle to the next available fan mode.
  • Cycle through the modes until the required Fan mode is displayed and leave it to activate. Fan modes include:
    • Auto: Fan runs only when the heating or cooling system is on.
    • On: Fan is always on.
    • Circ: Fan runs randomly about 33% of the time.

*The circulate option that allows you to set the fan to run a certain amount of time per hour."

How do I adjust the program schedule?

To adjust the program schedules:

  • Press MENU on your thermostat. PROG is displayed. Press SELECT. Then ON is displayed.
  • Press SELECT.
  • Press + or - to select day or set of days to edit. Press SELECT.
  • Press + or - to select a schedule period to edit (Wake, Away, Home, and Sleep). Press SELECT.
  • ON is displayed. Press SELECT to keep the schedule period on. Or Press + or - press and then SELECT to turn off the schedule period.
  • Time starts blinking. Press + or - or to adjust the schedule period start time. Press SELECT.
  • Temperature starts blinking. Press or to adjust the "Heat" setpoint temperature. Press SELECT.
  • Press + or - to adjust the "Cool" temperature setpoint. Press SELECT. Repeat steps 4 through 7 for the remaining schedule periods.
  • Press HOME when you're finished to save and return to the home screen.
How do I enter the Setup menu for my T5 7-Day Programmable Thermostat?
  • Press and hold MENU and + buttons for approximately 5 seconds to enter advanced menu.
  • Press SELECT to enter system setup (ISU) menu.
  • Press SELECT to cycle through ISU numbers. NOTE: See “System Setup Options” on page 9 of the quick install guide for a full list of ISU numbers and options.
  • Press + or - to change values or select from available options.
  • Press SELECT to save changes and advance to the next ISU number.
  • Once you have cycled through all of the ISU numbers, “Done” is displayed. Press SELECT to save and exit. To save and exit early, press HOME to return to the Home screen.
How do I create a permanent schedule hold?
  • Press + or - to change desired temperature. On the left hand side of the screen you will see "Temporary Hold" or "Permanent Hold" displayed. Below that you will see "Hold" displayed.
  • Press the button below "Hold" to choose "Permanent Hold".
How do I create a temporary schedule hold?
  • Press + or - to change desired temperature. On the left hand side of the screen you will see "Temporary Hold" or "Permanent Hold" displayed. Below that you will see "Hold" displayed.
  • Press the button below "Hold" to choose "Temporary Hold".
What is temporary hold?

The temporary hold setting is when you change the temperature setting to a different temperature and it stays at that setting until the next schedule change. The permanent hold setting holds the temperature setting you have chosen for an indefinite time. This overrides your scheduled settings.

How long will temporary hold be engaged?

Temporary hold lasts until the next scheduled program period.

What if I do not see the schedule option on the thermostat?

From home screen, press MENU button. Then press “+” until “prog” is displayed on the screen. Then press SELECT to edit the program. If you don't see the program option when following these steps, the thermostat may have been configured as non-programmable by the installer. Check ISU 120 shown on page 8 of the quick install guide.

How do I change from Fahrenheit to Celsius? (or Celsius to Fahrenheit)
  • Press the Menu button. Then Press the "+" button to advance to the "F/C' shown on the display.
  • Press Select button. Use the "+" & "-" to change from F to C, or C to F.
  • Then Press the "Home" button to Save & Exit.
What is the R-Slider Tab?

This is a built-in jumper switch in case there are two transformer systems. If there is only one R-Wire and it is connected to the R, Rc, or Rh terminal on the old thermostat, set the slider to the up position (1 wire). (Slider will automatically hide Rc position and internally jump R and Rc together.) If there is one wire connected to the R terminal and one wire connected to Rc terminal, set the Slider to the down position (2 wires).
